Founded in 1999 in Fort Walton Beach, Fluid Surf Shop was built on a passion for the Gulf Coast and the community that surrounds it.
Our story began with Tim Carr, a dedicated surfer who believed Fort Walton Beach deserved a shop that truly understood local waves, local riders, and local culture. Tim created more than just a retail space — he built a gathering spot for surfers, beachgoers, and families who shared a love for the water. For over two decades, Fluid became a staple of the Emerald Coast surf scene.
In 2026, Tim retired and passed the torch to Fort Walton Beach natives and former Fluid team riders Jonathan Brown and Dillon Heath. Both grew up in the shop and on the local breaks, representing Fluid long before they owned it.
Today, Fluid Surf Shop remains locally owned and rider-driven. We stay true to our roots: supporting the local surf community, offering quality gear for Gulf conditions, and keeping the laid-back, welcoming vibe that’s defined us since 1999.
From our founder’s vision to a new generation of hometown surfers at the helm, Fluid continues to move with the tide — always authentic, always local.
